The Junior Vendor Services Representative is a growth position assisting the Vendor Services team. This is a key support role that includes a broad range of tasks and provides detailed support to individual projects and processes.

Job Summary:
• Transmit contracts to vendors and confirm receipt
• Recreate contracts using Excel
• Review contracts for alterations
• Maintain contract logs and reports
• Maintain vendor information in database
• Assist VSR’s with processing bulk pickups and other junior purchasing duties
• Work on special projects as needed

• AS degree or working towards degree completion
• Strong computer skills including Excel and the ability to quickly learn and use our database system
• Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Builds positive team spirit by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships to effectively reach production goals and objectives

• Experience dealing with multiple vendors and contracts
• Knowledge of waste industry experience
• Experience with AS400 system

Compensation: $15 – $17/ hour, 40 hour work week M-F.

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for day-to-day negotiations of waste & recycling services from a network of service providers. This is the right opportunity for you if you have the ability to multi-task, while staying very detail oriented and have the desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:
• Develop and maintain long lasting relationships with internal service providers and Account Managers
• Efficiently prioritize tasks based on client and internal customer expectations.
• Negotiate vendor costs and Process Service Level requests for all services as needed, accurately and on time.
• Obtain signed contracts from vendors and ensure compliance through the course of the agreement.
• Negotiate and resolve billing discrepancies in a timely manner
• Evaluate incoming requests and prioritize based on company needs, as well as keep the Customer Service team informed of progress
• Work on bidding projects to obtain cost savings for current and potential clients.

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Proficient in all purchasing functions, including a history of successful pricing and billing negotiations with various vendors
• Must have 2+ years experience as a Purchasing Agent or equivalent
• Strong analytical and Multi-tasking skills
• Highly organized and a timely and effective communicator
• Ability to follow up on task through completion
• Capable of prioritizing work, thinking outside the box, ability to make quick decisions.
• Must have basic understanding of contracts and be able to proof & interpret language
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word required

• AS-400 procurement system experience preferred
• Waste Industry experience a plus

$18-$21 per hour, 40 hour M-F workweek

This role is a client engagement expert focused on creating and maintaining excellent relationships with our customers. This person will work to focus on expanding and growing relationships with decision makers and executives of our customers. They will grow the relationship through up-selling additional services and increasing utilization of their existing services.


  • Develop sustainable strategic relationships with customer’s executives and senior leadership to maximize driving account growth and share of market
  • Responsible for creating a joint business / value plan along with the delivery of key business reviews that addresses both company and customers long term goals which leads to achievement of growth targets
  • Build lasting relationships quickly
  • Identify client dissatisfaction areas and advocate solutions and/or appropriate resources to solving those issues
  • Up-sell additional services to existing customers to achieve their strategic needs
  • Assess account needs, analyze customer data and prepare plans in partnership with sales and customer service departments
  • Gain an understanding of each customer’s business challenges and objectives and map NWA services to address their needs.
  • Communicate well at an executive level, but also deeply knowledgeable in operational detail and able to engage tactically as required.
  • Lead large initiatives as well as rolling up sleeves on smaller projects ensuring service delivery is high quality and exceeds client expectations
  • Anticipate needs, respond to customer issues in an expedient and professional manner
  • Work closely with NWA senior staff on strategic business initiatives
  • Develop strong internal relationships with Sales, Customer Services and other NWA departments to drive solutions that improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to travel 20%



  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience in strategic accounts management
  • Results-driven and passionate about client engagement, retention and account management
  • Strong negotiation skills required
  • Experience with financial acumen and analytics
  • Waste management services knowledge preferred
